SDG #367 Geeboon HA310 solders copper bar with ease! Drives all JBC handpieces.

The Geeboon HA310 is the flagship of the two models replacing the earlier high power Geeboon station. A toroidal transformer gives full isolation to the tip and allows AC switching of the heater, and the station drives every JBC handpiece from the T470 to the T115. It is rated at 350 W with about 400 W drawn from the mains, comes in 220 V or 110 V versions, and cost about £181 plus £40 shipping for its 3.6 kg.

The review covers the T470, T245 and T210 handpieces, Geeboon cartridges matching JBC construction at about half the price, the standard metal cradle and the optional JBC style plastic cradle, which only suits the T210 and T245 since the T470 grip fouls it. The control unit has a metal shell, a large colour TFT, four buttons instead of an encoder, a front power switch, a temperature controlled fan, USB and an isolated RS485 port for soldering robot control.

Inside, the 250 VA transformer has a 9 V winding for the electronics and two 23 V windings that a relay places in series for the T470, with an STM32, op amps for current and thermocouple sensing, and two series MOSFETs for zero crossing AC switching. The glued front panel needs hot air to remove. The menu adds a weak heat mode, DTC compensation, P loop adjustment and calibration; the supplied tip read about 6C high. The T210 peaked at 71 W, the T245 with a 5 mm tip drew 250 W and heated a four layer board effortlessly, and the largest T470 cartridge drew 450 W from the mains and spread solder across a copper bar as if it were a PCB. The station has earned a permanent place beside the bench; the only gap is a proper T470 cradle.
