The KSGER PD210 is about as cheap as a JBC C210 compatible soldering iron gets, selling for roughly £15 to £20 delivered, yet it manages a colour TFT display, USB-C Power Delivery with PPS negotiation, and an optional barrel jack adapter for a plain 12V supply. Mould flash and visible seams give away the price point, but the jog wheel feels noticeably better than on comparable budget handpieces, and the grip to tip distance is short enough for comfortable fine work.

The teardown reveals a sensible design: a 3.3V linear regulator for the logic, a 15A P-channel MOSFET switching heater current, an optocoupler doing gate level translation, and an instrumentation amplifier reading the cartridge thermocouple. The standout detail is the wake sensor. Instead of the usual vibration switch or accelerometer, a Pogo pin contacts a strip of copper tape to form a capacitive touch pad, so the iron wakes the instant it is picked up and sleeps within a second of being put down. It also ignores desk knocks and cable movement, which is a genuine improvement over vibration triggered irons.

Out of the box the temperature reading was around 15 degrees high, so the four point ADC calibration routine is worth running before use. After calibration it tracked accurately. Power draw peaked around 50W on heat up and roughly 35W into a demanding four layer board, which is respectable for a C210 cartridge. Buyers should note there is no isolation: the tip is electrically tied to USB ground, so the quality of the power supply matters.
