SDG #370 XTool XT80W Wireless Diagnostic Scan Tool (OBD-II)

The xTool XT80W is a professional automotive diagnostic system built around an 8 inch 1024 x 768 tablet, whose 4:3 aspect ratio suits graphs and parameter lists, running Android 10 with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage for a database of more than 100 brands and 10,000 vehicles. A 5 Ah battery lasts a working day, USB-C handles charging, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth link the tablet to the vehicle communication interface and the update servers. The hard case holds a 20 W USB-C adapter, USB 3 cables, the wireless VCI dongle, a power adapter used only with the optional KC501 key programmer, and an endoscope camera.

Special functions include forced DPF regeneration, hybrid and electric vehicle battery reports, injector coding, seat calibration and a long list of relearn procedures. Three years of updates are included; after that the tool keeps working on the last downloaded version unless a subscription is renewed, so the final update before expiry matters.

Connected to a European Ford, the automatic scan presents a topology view showing which modules share each bus, with the tool talking to every bus rather than only the high speed CAN. Stored faults were an intake air temperature circuit code from recent air filter work, an intermittent oil level sensor and four long standing codes caused by LED bulbs. Any module can be opened from the topology for information, fault reading and clearing, live data, actuation tests and special functions. Live data can be grouped, charted and recorded, and the graphs updated faster than any tool seen on the channel so far. Actuation tests on this vehicle were limited mostly to the instrument cluster lamps, but newer vehicles expose far more.
