SDG #310 Aixun H310D 1000W SMD Rework Station

The Aixun H310D is Aixun’s first venture into hot air rework, and it arrives with an ambitious feature list: 1000W of heating, a 3.5 inch IPS display, three memory presets, selectable PID behaviour (soft, standard and fast) and Wi-Fi plus Bluetooth for firmware updates and downloadable component profiles. This review works through the handpiece, nozzles, stand and control unit before opening the chassis up for a proper look at the electronics.

The hardware side is largely positive. The handpiece is compact and comfortable, close in size to a Metcal unit, with a soft silicone grip and quick nozzle compatibility so third party angled nozzles will fit. The all metal stand is a step up from most, thanks to a full rubber base pad instead of stick on feet that fall off. The main complaint is the hose length, which is only around 50cm and forces the station to sit close to your work. The blower is compact but noisy at full airflow, partly because the intake sits very near the metal chassis and the anti vibration mounts are stiffer than usual.

Inside, the design is sensible, with a GigaDevice ARM MCU driving the TFT, an ESP32 for wireless and an off the shelf brushless motor driver. Two findings matter for buyers: mains earth reaches the chassis only via the PCB rather than a crimped chassis connection, and the heater and earth wires running to the handpiece are alarmingly thin for a 1000W load. Firmware is also unfinished, with a nonsensical AC voltage readout, a temperature jump at cool down, greyed out menu options and no working cloud presets yet. Calibration measured around 10C out, which is acceptable in practice. Capable, but it needs revisions.
