SDG #362 Aixun T413 Intelligent 200W Soldering System and T225 Smart Handpiece

The Aixun T413 is the follow up to the T320, keeping the same chunky transformer based chassis and 200W peak rating but dropping T210 compatibility. It runs C245 cartridges, so genuine JBC tips still work with the supplied blue T245 handpiece, which matters because the three bundled Aixun cartridges lack the thermal mass to show off what a 200W supply can actually do. Swapping in a 5mm JBC tip transformed the results on a four layer board with continuous ground planes, and pushed around 70W into a coin.

The teardown is genuinely impressive. Double sleeved mains wiring, insulated crimps, extra sleeving on the secondaries, a neatly wound iron core transformer, and a single main PCB where the high current path between the AC switching MOSFETs and heater output is kept extremely short. A GigaDevices GD32F305 handles control, with an ESP32-C3 for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Electrically this stands up against mainstream European brands, and the tip measures as a dead short to mains earth.

The problems are all in software. The PC application refused to push the firmware update, though the station’s own menu managed it. The tap sensor pad overshoots temperature steps and misses double taps, suggesting it is polled far too slowly. The advertised neural network control loop looks visibly less stable than a well tuned PID, with temperature and power wandering at idle. Worst of all, the T225 intelligent handpiece read over 100C below setpoint on the calibrator, and there is no calibration function documented anywhere. The gesture control also does nothing yet. Promising hardware, but not finished software.
