SDG #362 Aixun T413 Intelligent 200W Soldering System and T225 Smart Handpiece

The Aixun T413 succeeds the T320 with the same mechanical design, a 200 W peak and 130 W rated output, a colour TFT, presets, a touch pad on the front, a cradle with cartridge changer, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Unlike the T320 it supports only the T245 handpiece or the new T225 smart handle, which uses Aixun’s own cartridges rather than JBC compatible parts. The iron core mains transformer makes it large and heavy, with a region specific primary.

The teardown is reassuring. Mains wiring is confined to the rear, double sleeved and crimped, and the single main PCB keeps the high current path short: two HG093N12SL MOSFETs switch the heater on the AC waveform beside a current sense chip, with TPS54331 buck regulators, TP552 precision op amps for the thermocouple, a GD32F305 microcontroller and an ESP32-C3 for wireless. A 50 mm fan runs above 30C internally, the tip is a direct short to mains earth, and the construction rivals European manufacturers.

The software is where the system falls short. The PC application failed to update the firmware, though the station’s own update menu succeeded. The front sensor pad only increased the temperature and missed double taps, the promised display streaming to a PC could not be found, and the T225 gesture functions were not implemented. More seriously, the T225 read more than 100C low on the calibrator with both supplied cartridges and there is no calibration function, while the standard T245 handle read slightly high but within specification. The temperature graph shows the control loop wobbling rather than settling. With a genuine JBC 5 mm cartridge the station heats a four layer board and delivers about 70 W into a coin, slightly less than the PDK1200. Excellent hardware, but the firmware is not yet ready.
