SDG #192 High Power 20W LED Microscope Illuminator - Final Assembly and tests

The design centres on Cree XHP50.2 emitters driven hard enough to put roughly 20W into the working area, which is an order of magnitude beyond the small SMD LEDs used in the ring lights that ship with most stereo microscopes.

Colour rendering and glare on shiny solder joints are the practical trade offs to watch, since raw lumens alone do not make a good inspection light.
